The case for fusion – in conversation with George Szmukler

In this “in conversation with,” I ask George Smuzkler, Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry and Society at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, about the “fusion law” proposal that he has been instrumental in developing, i.e. a law which would replace separate mental health and mental capacity legislation with legislation based solely upon mental capacity and best interests.

For more about George’s work and fusion law, see his book, Men in White Coats: Treatment under Coercion.

Boring but necessary caveat, nothing here represents legal advice.
