Alex RKIn a rather spectacular coup, Community Care reported on 28 October 2022 that LPS implementation was due in October 2023, based upon a report to Social Work England’s board by its Chief Executive. However, DHSC have confirmed today (31 October 2022) that:
Social Work England published in error recently a timescale for implementation of LPS which was incorrect and should not have put in public. SWE have since withdrawn it and apologised.
DHSC are finalising analysis of the consultation and going through ministers and then a plan and implementation date will be confirmed. There is no implementation date at present.
The wait for a date therefore continues.
