Distributed rights protection: The 2000 Hague Convention on the International Protection of Adults and the challenge of securing fundamental rights across borders

In an article published in September 2023 in the International Journal of Law and Psychiatry, my colleague in Chambers, Chiara Cordone, and I outline the 2000 Hague Convention on the International Protection of Adults, and look at the challenges that arise when it comes to securing fundamental rights across borders for those with impairments.   As the Convention is not as well known as it should – and the same can be said with even more force about the challenges we identify – I have done a walkthrough:
