ERC Voices Project Final Workshop 22 November

The ERC VOICES project final workshop, to be held on 22 November at NUI in Galway, will draw together the four core themes of the project – criminal responsibility, contractual capacity, consent to treatment and consent to sex – and feature a mix of personal narratives, art and theoretical perspectives based on the UNCRPD.

All 15 storyteller and respondent pairs from 12 different countries will share their experiences of the project and provide previews of the book which will be published in 2018.

The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Michael Bach, Managing Director of the Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society and his particular area of expertise is in legal capacity of people with intellectual disabilities. The seminar should be of interest to students, researchers, people with disabilities, people with experience of the mental health system, family members, and practitioners in the fields of law, health and social care.

This is a free event but please RSVP by Monday the 13th of November as places are limited and refreshments will be provided.
